Chandrika Jayant, Hanjie Ji, Samuel White, and Jeffrey P. Bigham. 2011. Supporting blind photography. In The proceedings of the 13th international ACM SIGACCESS conference on Computers and accessibility (ASSETS '11). ACM, New York, NY, USA, 203-210. DOI=http://dx.doi.org/10.1145/2049536.2049573
In your reflection, address the following topics in 400-600 words (total, word count not including the questions you write for class):
Both of these projects use computer vision techniques to assist with visual pictures (one for the purposes of photography, one to help ask visual questions). Jayant et al. used solely computer vision techniques for their research, while Zhong et al. used a hybrid of computer vision and crowd helpers.
Do you think one technique is better, and why? Or are there trade offs between the two approaches?
Are there examples you can think of where you do or do not want human helpers to view your images?
Please remember to write 3-5 discussion questions for class.
Can't change a rubric once you've started using it.
